Rod Adam[Important note: unfortunately the marker pen used on the back of the photo proofs bled through]Rod Adam, native of Scotland, grew up in the city of Dundee on the river Tay. In his youth he spent his spare time working on the tug boats with his father and sketching scenes of the harbour and ships he saw there. Upon his arrival in Canada in 1974, Rod continued to develop his love of painting by joining several art groups in the Mississauga area. He chose the watercolour medium as his specialty and concentrated on marine subjects. He is a cover artist for the yachting magazine GAM, and an award winner at the annual juried show at the Toronto Marine Museum. Most of his paintings are commissions from yachtsmen and boaters. He has helped raise funds for the restoration and maintenance of Chantry Island Lighthouse on behalf of the Marine Heritage Society in Southampton, Ontario through the sale of a limited edition print. Rod has participated in "Sail and Canvas" in Bayfield, Ontario and "Ship to Shore" in Oakville, Ontario which included his watercolours, ship models, marine photography and decoupage. His works are in private collections in Canada, USA, and Britain.
