Edward Baranosky

Edward Baranosky graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA, Major in Painting. He specializes in marine and figurative painting and works in several media. He has exhibited in the United States and Canada since 1964 and is a published poet.

He participated in an intensive workshop with John Angel and critique/interviews with John Angel, Stanley Woodward, Harry Ballinger, Paul Strisik, Andrew Wyeth, James Rosenquist, Don Stone, and others.

Mr. Baranosky has received a number of awards for his work in the New England Arts Festival, Mystic Connecticut, Third Prize, 1964; the National Scholastic Art Awards, Second Prize, 1965; the Ford Foundation Grant for Painting, 1969, and the Catholic Broadcasters of America, Gabriel Award for Painting, 1970.

In 1999 he received an OAC Exhibition Grant for Painting. He has exhibited in the Mirages shows, The McKay House of the Varley Centre, Unionville, Ontario, 1999 and 2000. His work is represented in the permanent Collections of The Newport Yacht Club and Brown University among others.

Mr. Baranosky is currently a member of The American Society of Portrait Artists and The American Society of Marine Artists.
