Pat Burstall lived on the rugged east coast of Canada in the historic port city of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her work ranges from marine depictions to landscapes to the military-related art that is so much a part of the local heritage.

Her paintings are exhibited in private and corporate collections and numerous galleries throughout Canada and the United States. From structural renderings to free flowing watercolours capturing the drama found in the Nova Scotia's landscape, each work show the artist's unique perspective.

In 1989, her most notable naval commission "Lost In Action", a series of twenty-four Canadian Warships lost during the Second World War. She was chosen as the artist-in-residence for the Maritime Command Museum in 1991.

Pat has shared her love of painting with hundreds of students and consistently has given support to the arts community in Nova Scotia.
