Golumba Kim, CSPWC

In her native Korea, Golumba received a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Arts and studied Fine Arts under a variety of Korean masters. She worked eight years as art coordinator at the government Women's Welfare Centre in Seoul before opening her own art school, which she operated for nine years.

Golumba Kim moved to Canada in 1997, Golumba has devoted most of her time to painting, although she still maintains an interest in teaching. She teaches adult art classes and also junior high school students in a private school setting. She operated The Golumba Art Gallery in Black Point, Nova Scotia, for five years and, presently, works out of a studio gallery in her home. In 2006 she was elected to the prestigious Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour.

Golumba has exhibited her work in Korea, China, and Canada with solo exhibitions and a number of group exhibitions since her arrival in Nova Scotia. Golumba has won numerous awards with her paintings, some of which include the Halifax Mayors Award, Korean Canadian Central Daily Art and Culture Award and 2nd prize 2001-2002 in the Art in Bloom Exhibition.
