Mark Boden elected to the Canadian Society of Marine Artists

Picton, 3 June 2004.

It is with the greatest pleasure that the Canadian Society of Marine Artists wishes to announce that Mr Mark Boden has been elected to signature Membership of the Society.

Mr Boden was born in Bermuda. After completing his secondary education in England and university in the United States, he returned to Bermuda, and his first love, the sea. Mark and his family winter in their Ontario, Canada, home allowing their children to attend school, but still live on a 20 ton Venus gaff ketch in Bermuda for part of the year. Mark Boden is an artist who specializes in realistic marine paintings. His work can be found in collections worldwide, and he has exhibited with such well known artists as J. Steven Dews, Tim Thompson, William Muller and Ken Marschall.

A sample of Mr Boden's work may be seen here.

The Canadian Society of Marine Artists promotes excellence in marine art, accepting that art is in the eye of the beholder and believing that the broad notion of "fine arts" - including both two and three dimensional works - and "excellence" should be used as guidelines. To maintain excellence, admission to the Society as a full member is by jury of the artists' peers.
