21st Annual Exhibition
Jury decides to invite more guest artists
The 21st Annual Exhibition of the Canadian Society of Marine Artists promises to be an event that will long be remembered.
From quiet sandy bays to more boisterous seascapes, from the islands of British Columbia to the rock strewn shores of Nova Scotia, from 17th century sailing ships to the cruise liners of the tourist trade, via lakers transiting the locks to reach Lake Ontario, naval vessels returning from Operation Apollo in the Gulf and crowding spinnakers racing for the marks, the breadth of this show is remarkable.
The Society has always maintained a tradition of the highest quality, and this year is no exception. Whether the works be oils or watercolours, acrylics, mixed media or giclées the hand of the Society's masters is evident.
Members Yves Berubé, Harry Heine, Bo Hermanson, John M. Horton, O.K. Schenk and Ray Warren will all have work on display, most of which has never been seen before in Ontario.
The Society's jury has, after due consideration, asked that prospective Members Malcolm Armstrong, Mark Boden, Ken Deeley, Dan Richards and Tibbie Alexander Yardley-Latham show a choice of their own works. Here again, the quality is extremely high and clearly demonstrates that the expertise of marine artists is not being lost.
Held at the Waring Hall, Prince Edward County, Ontario on Saturday April 3rd 2004, doors will open at 5:00pm for dinner at 7:30. Some tickets are still available. For more information, please contact the Society at 613 476 1177 or the Waring House at 613 476 7492
